Jimmy's Letter

Dear Tim,
Thank you for supporting me in my LIVESTRONG Challenge campaign last year. Your support meant a lot to me and to the many who benefit from the great work of the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF). Because of your generosity, I was able to raise more than $31,000 and become the top fundraiser for the 2006 Portland LIVESTRONG Challenge!
On the personal front, I had my final round of chemotherapy last month so my treatment is over! I remain cancer free but will continue to have MRIs and other tests every three to six months (to make sure the cancer hasn't returned) for many years. It's been a long fifteen months, and I'm so grateful to all of you for your encouragement, positive thoughts and support.
My real fight, however, has just begun! I am committed to "pay it forward" by helping others who are fighting cancer just like I am. For that reason, I am asking you to support me in the 2007 LIVESTRONG Challenge. I will once again be riding with my dad, and this year we will be doing the 70-mile ride! My goal is to raise $50,000 for the LAF. With help from you and others like you, I'm confident I can achieve my goal.
I've learned a lot from getting cancer as well as from participating in the LIVESTRONG Challenge. I've learned about the importance of helping others, reaching out to your community and working together to fight cancer. I'm proud to be part of what Lance calls the "army of people" fighting together to stop cancer. The Lance Armstrong Foundation taught me a valuable lesson last year - that anyone can make a difference. I was honored to be part of those who had raised money for such an incredible organization and even prouder to be part of those who are battling cancer and fighting for a cure.
Like Lance, I believe that unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. I hope you'll continue to be part of my team in 2007.
